Revelation Part I was roots reggae and more what I like and would want to see from the most talented son of Bob Marley. But, I can appreciate the work done on this album - a lot of collaboration and a lot of more hip-hop and rap - far from roots reggae but still a very well put together collection of work.

Revelation Part 1: The Root of Life is the second studio album of Stephen Marley, released on 24 May 2011. The album won a Grammy Award in 2012 for Best Reggae Album.^[1]

The album debuted at No. 92 on Billboard 200,^[2] and No. 1 on Reggae Albums,^[3] selling around 5,000 in the first week. The album has sold 46,000 copies in the United States as of June 2016.^[4]

While The Root of Life is more a traditional roots reggae album, The Fruit of Life uses different type of sounds, not just familiar to reggae, to express the far-reaching impact Jamaican music has had on various genres, especially hip hop, which contaminates this second part of the project more.

The Root Of Life was more a sort of acoustic, introspective and more spiritual project, The Fruit Of Live is more oriented in the present and in the future and showcase Stephen versatility.

Produced by Marley, the new album Fruit of Life boasts 18 new tracks and features a variety of guest collaborations including Rick Ross, Pit Bull, Damian ‘Jr. Gong’ Marley, Iggy Azalea, Waka Flocka Flame, Dead Prez, Rakim, DJ Khaled, Busta Rhymes, Wyclef Jean, Shaggy, Black Thought (of The Roots), Bounty Killer, Sizzla, Capleton, Ky-Mani Marley, Jo Mersa and more.

Stephen ‘Ragga’ Marley, is son of reggae legend Bob Marley and Rita Marley. Raised in Kingston, Jamaica he started his music career very young, like many other Jamaican superstar, with his elder siblings Ziggy, Sharon and Cedella as The Melody Makers.

Stephen Marley is a singer, songwriter, musician and producer that already landed #1 on the U.S. Billboard Reggae Album Chart for all of his solo albums and has already collected a total of eight Grammys for Best Reggae Album.
